Who we are!

The minck sisters

We’re two sisters from Prince George, BC, who learned to sew via our mom, who would tuck a cereal box under the pedal so our little feet could reach. We spent childhood afternoons destroying her sewing machine while making princess dresses, stuffed animals, and a bunch of poorly constructed clothes. The machine we learned on (and wrecked) still runs to this day!

As we grew up, friends, neighbours, and even strangers kept saying, “You should teach me to sew.” It became such a repeated ask that we figured there was enough interest to host some classes! We are best friends and are bound to each other through our love of making things.

Madison is the superior seamstress and can whip up all manner of items from complex dresses to unique bags and even golfing acessories? Mercedes is a close second but largely spends her time quilting and saying shes going to make things that never get made.

After much discussion in our classes we have realized there needs to be a space for a drop in sewing circle! We will be trying once or twice a month to have a drop in night where you can bring in a project and get some help or just hang out and blab.
